amazing waterfront views and easy access to local attractions
I really appreciated the warm atmosphere and the cozy shared spaces where you can enjoy fine river views, and it's just a few steps to the vibrant Chinatown with its amazing food options and cool bars.

Kuching Waterfront Lodge has a superb location on Main Bazar, accommodation although not the cheapest in town, is still good value for money compared to higher rated places we have been before, rooms are well lit, clean and the staff are extremely helpful in arranging transport or answering your questions about Sights to see. Would stay there again and highly recommended.
Breakfast is barely ok for an early start, why do Malaysians assume, that every tourist eats toast with Margarine? Would have been very happy with local fare, like Laksa. Better and cheap breakfast from 6am at the chinese stall at the open air market near the mosque.

The location is excellent I.e in the riverfront which is the main activity in the city.
You will be charged if you check-out late even though you tell the front desk you'll be checking out late. I was charge the hourly rate even though I check-out 45 minutes late.

My staff c/out 1215noon, receptionist said have to charge for late c/out, my staff ask the to talk to me. I come down before 1300hrs, receptionist ask me to pay extra for late c/out plus 3 extra pillows. I refuse to pay. I was in the hotel line before for 10 years experience, has been stayed more then 100 hotels troughout Malaysia & Asean country, from 5 star to budget hotel. Never happen c/out by 1300hrs & extra pillow have to pay extra. First day c/in, my staff room not function, them give 2 fan without deduct for room charge but yet want to charge e extra for the above mentioned.

original building, lovely balcony, basic kitchen
The room's lack of hooks and hangers was frustrating!!! The bathroom cleanliness could certainly use improvement!!! A better layout to accommodate light and airflow would make a significant difference!!!

The place could have been lovely, but alas, the wireless was practically non-existant, and the noise from the upstairs guests was unbearable. I woudl ve been grateful for even a token upgrade after such chaos, however I guess they don't cater to people who value their peace and quiet as one would expect. Just couldn't give a good review.

Here's what worked, and what didn't
Service at this lodge is really good especially from Uncle Patrick who goes out of his way to make guests comfortable. The location is fantastic right in front of the waterfront with easy access to attractions.
The rooms are somewhat dated and in need of some maintenance.
